Introduction

We are discussing a case study involving a shared office center. This center houses many different clients, so their requirements differ from those of typical other clients. Our colleague responsible for this client will join us in analyzing this case.

Client Overview

The client is a shared office center that spans across 8 floors. These floors are not connected, with other companies’ offices occupying the space between them. This makes the total area quite large. Each floor caters to different tenants with varying equipment needs. The most important aspect of this client is that each floor has different commercial tenants who have rented the entire floor or part of it.

Challenges

The client has two main requests. Firstly, they want a high-speed, stable wireless network system, similar to what other shared offices require. Secondly, they have concerns about network security due to the nature of being a shared office. They need to share a wireless network with different tenants, which adds complexity to network security.

In addition to the wireless network system, the client has a lot of different appliances in the office, such as printers, coffee machines, and vending machines. They also have private office spaces that can be booked and used by tenants, adding to the image of a modern and high-tech office.

Proposed Solution

To address the client’s challenges, we proposed a solution that involved using multiple network service providers to ensure maximum coverage and stability. This was especially beneficial for clients who occupied more space or had higher network demands. For clients who occupied less space or had lower network requirements, we suggested using a single network service provider to reduce operational costs.

For the network setup, we had to consider the proximity of different clients’ spaces and adjust the placement of different receiving devices to avoid interference. This ensured that each tenant could enjoy the fastest and most stable wireless network system possible.

As for the printing fee system, since different tenants shared the same printers located on different floors, we needed to assign usage rights to different tenants and distinguish between their print usage. To protect sensitive business data, we set up a password mechanism that required the document owner to enter the correct password before they could print.

Conclusion

This case study highlights the importance of understanding the unique needs of each client and providing solutions that meet those needs while maintaining efficiency and effectiveness. It also underscores the importance of network security in a shared office environment.
